Hi! My name is.. (what?) My name is.. (who?)
My name is.. (huh?) My name is.. (what?)
My name is..
A perfect example of what not to do at a job fair. Fair? More like a carnival! With over 170 companies on campus for recruitment, the place was expected to be overflowing with recruiters. And it was. Contrary to what I thought, however, it was really well organized.
The day, however, was a recipe for disaster. With assignments lined up for submission over the week, and a test in the middle of the day, followed by a lab session immediately after, there was not too much time to go and make use of the event! But, fear not, I tread where people rarely do! ;-)
Got dressed up in my suit (yes, we have to be professionally dressed) and with resumes and company research and the map of the arena in hand, I set off to the "park". Reached there, got my name tag, and voila, I was in. Havign reached bright and early at 10 am, the crowds were not too big, and soon I was done with 4 companies. Thats when the lines began to grow. My classmates, still fast asleep I presume, were nowhere to be seen. My seniors, however, were all over the place. I think I met the entire class there :-D
How was it?
Well, the thing about joining classes 3 weeks ago, kind of makes it a little tough to try for an internship already. Besides, most companies that come now, look for full time hires for July. They look for summer interns (beginning May) sometime in January. Go figure! So today was more of a scouting session. Handing over resumes, getting a feel of what they think of me, and the like. Oh and of course, the freebies. Got a nice t-shirt, an awesome pen with a built in LED light, and a pen that needs to be "unclicked" before it can be used to write!
What next?
Thats what I want to know. I guess its just a patience game now. Wait till the turn of the year, and begin again!
All I need is just a little patience
(inhale) Patience...
