Competition
Everywhere you look, everything you do, its always there. In a dog eat dog world, its the fighters who get ahead. This is true in most aspects of life, but there are some places you would not expect this to creep into. Some things should just be taken as is, and let go. Not everyone sees life that way, however.
The game of one-upmanship is something that seems to lie in their blood. Whatever you have done, they have done better. Be it a trip, an experience, or anything at all. You share something with a friend, in the spirit of sharing, least expecting their minds to be racing ahead to see how they can outdo you. How can a conversation not be about them? Its just not possible. Of course, if you try to reciprocate their actions the same way they treat you, silence ensues. Awkward times.
Just one word, and you know what I mean,
Friends competing with friends
Will it ever end
I'm losing all of my patience,
I need a way out, and soon

hum sab ek hi kashti ke musafir hain, kaun paani meh kab girta hai woh alag baat hai...
Jald hi tum bhi tairnaa seekh jaoge!
Totally understand.. unfortunately, I tend to withdraw from cut-throat competition, coz I just dont find the fight worth it! But thats not how it should really be I guess.
hmm...wondering who or wat u r talking about...
may u find peace "within" ur troubles, whatever they are...
remember this though...competition happens only when think so urself... it takes 2 to compete... the answer lies in ur own hands...
@bajju
hmmmm
@still searching
yeah well it depends on the situation. if it crops up in everyday life then i guess u shud, for ur own good.
@rio
not always. sometimes its just the other side that loves to upstage u, not that u care, but it gives the impression of not really paying attention.
i agree with rio on this... competition is always in one's head. for all u know, whoever you think is competing with you is probably not even considering u a competitor.... it's up to u to choose to enter this supposed "competition" in your head or just do your own thing, excel in that and stay happy... i personally find peace in the latter strategy...
@rupsha
the "competition" here is not in the strictest sense of the word. its just in the nature of people to prove something. as someone both u and rio will know quite well, once said, its more abt trying to steal thunder.
Quick question...who's stealing ur thunder? and why? and how? and forget it...:D
@rio u'd be surprised at the who... and again dont take everything so literally... think a little...
it's not healthy competition, it's a game of conceit, for the ones who need to be assured that they are worth something. Good thinking.
Interesting conversation. Did you get your answers?
its nice to be competitive but not overtly so. I think, too much of "dauda dauda bhaga bhaga sa " competition can ruin the fun in winning it also. But of course todays world is all about cut-throat comp, being chased by bloodhounds all the time. I hate it!
